Canada wins bronze medal in four-man bobsled event

Canada has picked up the bronze medal in the four-man bobsled event on the final day of competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The team of pilot Justin Kripps, Ryan Sommer, Cam Stones and Benjamin Coakwell finished with a four-run time of 3:55.09, just 7-10ths of a second behind the gold medalists from Germany.

It was Canada’s 26th medal of these Games, tying the second-most total even won at a Winter Games. It is also three off its record total from four years ago in South Korea.

The second Canadian team of pilot Christopher Spring, Cody Sorensen, Samuel Giguere and Mike Evelyn finished ninth.
