Price increase coming to Winnipeg transit in new year

Changes are coming to Winnipeg transit in the new year.

Ticket cost changes

The City of Winnipeg says starting Jan. 01, 2022, transit fairs will increase by five cents for individual tickets.

New prices:

  • Full cash fares will be $3.10.
  • Senior and Youth cash fares will be $2.60.

Winnipegers can still use 2021 bus tickets until March 31, 2022, with the appropriate cash difference.

Winnipeg Transit offers a large number of fare options including the WINNpass for qualifying customers. For complete Transit fare information, including pass and ticket sales locations, please visit winnipegtransit.com or contact 311.

Parking changes

Complimentary one-hour parking and temporary loading zones will be ending in the new year.

As of Jan. 1, all complimentary one-hour parking from Monday to Friday will be removed.

In addition, all temporary 15-minute loading zones around Downtown and the Exchange District will also come to an end.

Two-hour parking on Saturdays will remain at on-street parking locations. No payment for parking on Sundays or Statutory Holidays will remain.
