Six of seven new COVID-19 deaths in Manitoba linked to variants of concern

WINNIPEG (CityNews) — Manitoba is reporting seven new deaths of people with COVID-19.

The province’s daily pandemic update says six of the deaths are linked to variants of concern, with five of those being linked to the B.1.1.7 variant and the other being unspecified.

All of those who died were 60 or older.

Manitoba is also reporting 194 new cases of the virus.
