Two men wanted in connection to 2020 death of Mohamed Ahmed

WINNIPEG – Homicide detectives with the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) are hoping tips from the public can help them locate a pair of suspects linked to a homicide from last year.

Around 8 a.m. on Oct. 12, someone out walking their dog near Churchill Drive and Hay Street noticed a body in the Red River.

Police responded to the scene and recovered the body, which was later identified as Mohamed Mohiadin Ahmed, 29.

Investigators have since determined that Ahmed was killed at a home in the Fort Garry area just days before his body was found.

Earlier this year, WPS said it was looking for Jesse James Daher, 28, in relation to the case.

Now detectives are also looking for 21-year-old Evan Daniel Bill Brightnose-Baker.

Daher is described as a white man, about 6’3″ and 155 pounds with a slim build. He has green eyes and short brown hair, but police believe he may have a shaved head.

Police believe Winnipeg’s drug subculture played a role in Ahmed’s death.

Both suspects are wanted on Canada-wide warrants for second-degree murder and are considered to be armed and dangerous.

If you see either of these men, do not approach them.

If you have any information, call 911 or Crime Stoppers.
