Winnipeg man in 30s among five new COVID deaths in Manitoba

WINNIPEG – Manitoba is reporting 100 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours as well as five additional virus-related deaths.

Officials say a man in his 30s in the Winnipeg health region is among those who died.

The other four fatalities ranged in age from their 70s to their 90s. Two were linked to previously known outbreaks at long-term care facilities.

Manitoba has seen a total of 683 COVID-19 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Health officials say the five-day test positivity rate is 10.5 per cent.

There are currently 4,461 active coronavirus cases in the province while 19,982 Manitobans have recovered.
