Two deaths, 153 new COVID-19 cases in Manitoba

WINNIPEG (CITYNEWS) – Two more people have died of COVID-19 in Manitoba, provincial health officials announced in a release on Saturday.

Two women in their 70s from the Winnipeg health region were the province’s 49th and 50th death due to COVID.

Both women had previously tested positive for the virus. One was linked to an outbreak at Misericordia Health Centre long-term care home.

Ninety-one of the province’s newly reported 153 cases were from the Winnipeg health region.

There are currently 65 people in hospital and 10 in ICU.
