Police charge B.C. man in Winnipeg shooting death of Cody Sleigh, second man sought

WINNIPEG – Police in Winnipeg and B.C. have come together to arrest a man in connection to a July murder.

On July 21 around 5:45 a.m., police were called to a shooting on Main Street near Fernbank Avenue where they found Cody Sleigh, 31, suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Sleigh, who was originally from Williams Lake and was living in Winnipeg, died two days later.

On Sept. 7, Mounties in Williams Lake arrested Kleon Pop, 32. He was returned to Winnipeg where he was charged with first-degree murder in Sleigh’s death.

Police are now looking for a second suspect and have issued a Canada-wide warrant for Dyllan Petrin, 19.

He also faces a first-degree murder charge.

Petrin is 5’5″ with a medium build and short dark hair. He has a tattoo on his right forearm and a tattoo of Chinese characters on the left side of his neck.

Police say he is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call their local police department or Crime Stoppers.
