WINNIPEG (CITYNEWS) – Winnipeggers who take public transit on weekdays may have been exposed to COVID-19 after a passenger tested positive for the virus.
The City of Winnipeg says the passenger took bus routes 11 and 14 between 8 a.m. and 8:20 a.m., and again between 7:30 p.m. and 7:50 p.m., every day from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2.
Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living believe the exposure risk is low, however they are recommending that individuals who may have been in contact with the passenger on those routes monitor their symptoms.
Winnipeg Transit say they are aware of the potential exposure and have taken “appropriate follow-up measures.”
Face coverings have been mandatory on all Winnipeg buses since Aug. 29.
