Man with gunshot wound hit by car, in critical condition

WINNIPEG (CITYNEWS) – Winnipeg police say a 44-year-old man was shot then hit by a car in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred before 2:30 a.m. near Balmoral Street and Cumberland Avenue.

The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition after reports he was struck by a vehicle.

Winnipeg police later determined the man had been shot in the upper body prior to the collision.

Officers were seen leading a man away from the scene, in handcuffs, hours after the incident.

They also met with the driver of the car that struck the victim but haven’t yet laid charges.

Police are asking anyone with information to call them or Crime Stoppers.
