By The Canadian Press

WINNIPEG – Health officials say a third Manitoban has died from COVID-19.

The province says the latest fatality, a man who was in his 60s and from Winnipeg, had an underlying health condition.

Provincial officials are also reporting 13 new probable or confirmed cases for a total to date of 217.

Dr. Brent Roussin, the province’s chief public health officer, says he doesn’t believe Manitoba’s numbers are near a peak and he expects they will continue to grow.

He says it’s important for people to continue to stay home as much as possible and to practise social distancing when going out.
