Arcing power line lights up Winnipeg sky

WINNIPEG (CityNews) – No one is hurt after an arcing power line lit up the Winnipeg night sky on Tuesday.
Just before 9:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to the scene on Oakland Avenue.
When they arrived on scene, a sparking electrical line was bouncing on the ground near Devon Avenue and Roch Street.
Several homes were evacuated at the time so emergency crews could tend to the power line.
Everyone was allowed to go back into their homes a short time later.
Roch Street and Brazier Street needed to be closed at the time, but have since re-opened.
