Conservatives inch ahead of Liberals in ‘largest national public opinion poll’ to date in 2019 campaign

TORONTO – The latest poll ahead of the federal election holds some good news for Andrew Scheer.
More than halfway through the campaign, the new poll — which is being called the largest one conducted so far — has the Conservatives in the lead with 34 per cent support.
The Liberals are trailing close behind with 32 per cent, followed by the NDP at 14, and the Greens at 11 per cent.
Campaign Research polled almost 5,000 people about their voting intentions to compile this data.
“This is a very large sample and it gives us a lot of confidence when trying to get a better read on the regional battles,” the pollster’s Nick Kouvalis said. “This study confirms that since early September and up to today, despite there being an election campaign that seems as if it has been ongoing for more than 3 months now, there have been no significant changes in ‘top line’ support for any of the parties.”
It finds both the Conservatives and Liberals are still in a deadlock when it comes to voter intentions in B.C., where all four parties sit between 19 and 30 per cent.
“Anything can still happen in BC over the next 17 days, including the NDP and/or GPC coming in 1st or 2nd place in BC,” the report reads.
