WINNIPEG – It was a hard-fought battle but the Manitoba Green Party was unable to win a single seat in this provincial election.

Green supporters were optimistic David Nickarz in Wolseley would be able to pull out a win, just three-and-a-half years after he came within 400 votes of securing a seat in the legislature.

Party leader James Beddome lost to NDP leader Wab Kinew in his riding of Fort Rouge.

It was Bedomme’s fifth attempt at a seat.

Hopes were high for the greens since the early days of the campaign, leader Elizabeth May was in town a few weeks ago to help with the campaign effort.
