Potential pin pad skimmer at parking lot pay station says Grace Hospital

A warning from the WRHA to those who visited Grace Hospital this past weekend. A card skimmer was spotted on one of the PIN pads at the parking pay station, police are investigating.

WINNIPEG – Employees at Grace Hospital are warning anyone who visited the hospital last weekend to double-check their account information after someone alerted staff there may be a pin pad skimmer on one of the pay stations.

The hospital says between Friday and Monday, someone spotted what they believed to be a skimmer, a device that scammers use to steal your debit or credit card information when you use it, installed on the parking pay station in the hospital’s main lobby.

“If you used a credit or debit card at the parking pay station in the main lobby of the Grace Hospital during that time period, it is recommended that you monitor your account closely and immediately notify your financial institution of any suspicious transactions,” reads an email from the hospital.

While no skimmer was found by staff, the hospital says it’s alerting patients and visitors out of an abundance of caution.

Winnipeg police are also investigating the matter.
