Prince of Pot responds to claims of sexual inappropriateness in the workplace

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A prominent marijuana advocate now finds himself at the centre of accusations he was sexually inappropriate in the workplace.

In a Facebook post, the Prince of Pot offers part explanation, part denial and part acknowledgement that he “doesn’t always get it right.”

In the post, Marc Emery acknowledges that he says outrageous things, but adds it is his sincere belief that he has never harmed or “sexually aggressed” anyone in his life.

“Truth is, I’ve lived a very outspoken, provocative, possibly even outrageous life,” he writes. “I’ve thrived on controversy. And I’ve offended people. Lots of people. I’ve defended LouisCK, had arguments with the trans activists, have been sexually outspoken all my life, am seen around young women because I am popular with men and women, many of them young adults.”

“I would like to think my actions, I’m so very obvious and in the open, are always clear,” he adds.

He does, however, acknowledge he’s “a touchy guy probably.”

This is also the first time Emery has publicly detailed that his wife, Jodie, asked him to step away from Cannabis Culture in early 2016; ownership and operation went exclusively to her in 2009, he says.

Emery shares that the two of them are now separated.

The pot activist also addresses claims he had inappropriate relationships with underage girls.

He says it wasn’t unusual for him to smoke with 17 year olds, but says he’s never had sex with anyone younger than 19.
