WINNIPEG (CITYNEWS) – Police have laid charges in a stabbing Thursday that left a Winnipeg woman dead.
Around 6:30 p.m. Thursday police were called to reports of a stabbing at a home on Tyndall Avenue near Dorset Street. First responders found a woman suffering from severe injuries to her upper body. She was rushed to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The victim has since been identified as 38-year-old Lisa Marie Kubica.
An investigation into the situation led police to believe that the suspect attended the victims Tyndall Avenue home while armed with a weapon to confront the victim over “past issues” and that’s when the stabbing occurred. The suspect was found at a nearby home and was taken into custody on Thursday night shortly after the stabbing.
Investigators have now charged Phyllis Dawn Pascal, 45, with second-degree murder. She remains in custody.
