Teen charged in shooting overnight Saturday

WINNIPEG (CITYNEWS) – Another teen has been arrested and charged in the city’s latest homicide.
Police responded to calls of a shooting on Sherburn Street near Wellington Avenue on Saturday morning at about 12:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found a 17-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound in his upper body. He was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators found a suspect, a 15-year-old boy, at the scene and arrested him. They also recovered a firearm at the scene.
The teen is now charged with manslaughter, causing death by criminal negligence, discharge of a firearm in a reckless manner, possession of a firearm contrary to a probation order, failing to comply with a probation order.
The minor remains in custody.
