Jets’ Mark Scheifele out 6-8 weeks with upper-body injury

Mark Scheifele will be out six-to-eight weeks with an upper-body injury.
Midway through the second period of Wednesday’s win over Edmonton, Scheifele was lightly pushed by Oilers defenceman Brandon Davidson and crashed hard into the boards. He was seen writhing in pain, favouring his right arm afterwards and left the ice heading for the dressing room with trainers in tow.
There was no penalty assessed on the play.
Scheifele has 15 goals and 23 assists this season for the Jets, ranking second on the team to Blake Wheeler.
